Hunting ground Maltatal-Sonnseite of the Dr. Zundel’schen Forstverwaltung in the Maltatal
Hunting opportunities or hunting experiences in the outer zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park in a self-hunting area of approx. 3,200 ha and is located at an altitude of 1,100 m – 3,000 m.
The hunting ground is characterized by spruce, larch and pine forests with overlying steep alpine pastures with mountain basins and so-called kare.
The dense forest road network of approx. 50 km is passable up to an altitude of 1,800 m, where two comfortably furnished hunting lodges are available for hunting guests if necessary.

The predominant wild species is the Gamswild.
The habitat is mostly above the tree line on the steep alpine pastures. The hunt is exhausting, but with some basic condition of the hunter, everyone who has experienced the gams hunt will remember a unique experience.
Likewise, the deer hunt in the rutting season (20.9. – 10.10.) where the cry of the deer in the cires and steep forest flanks fades into a never-ending, rumbling echo and again an unforgettable hunting experience remains in the memory. Hunting takes place at the seat or stalking. The antler quality corresponds to the typical – stone deer – , thin and short-tangent, but end-happy.
The full-time hunters will do their utmost to offer the hunting guest eventful, beautiful and memorable hunting days.
